I think homeschooling's primary benefit is the bond that parents and children share. Another matter to be considered is the fact that homeschooling provides the children with better access to learning at their own pace. In fact I have written two particular hubs regarding this matter I would like to share:

Why Homeschoolers Choose to Stay Home at http://rutheddavid.hubpages.com/hub/Why … -Stay-Home

    and

For me, Homeschooling is still the Best Choice at

I homeschooled my two boys through to High School and then they wanted to be at school with their friends.  I would not have given up those 8 years of living and learning with my boys for anything. We unschooled which means that we learned through experiences rather that classtime and books.  Although we used books to supplement the experiences.

The boys went to school in Grade 9 and never missed a beat. They are both at University now so the methodology seems to work.

But the benefits continue.Never having had the peer pressure when they were developing their little personailties they continue to walk their own paths and make choices without the crowd. They both have core groups of friends and wonderful women in their lives. And I got to be an integral part of their lives for those 8 wonderful years!

I think the biggest benefit is that it's self-paced. Another benefit is being able to teach subjects that schools put little or no focus on. For example, I introduced archaeology in 1st grade.

That is what I think too, but have not made a decision if I want to homeschool or not.
