Does anyone know of any resources for teaching English as a foreign language to children?
I'm going to be starting work in a primary school teaching English to German pupils soon, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any great resources such as books/games etc that can be purchased from Amazon? (Children with an age range of around 6-10)
I teach EFL at a private school in Thailand and we have been using the Our Discovery Island student book and workbook which is published by Pearson Education Limited, the 2012 edition. The books also come with flashcards, audio CDs and DVDs. I have been using these materials for the past 12 weeks and my fifth grade students just love them. The books are illustrated very well, and almost every activity engages the interest of the students. The emphasis is on listening and speaking although there are some reading and writing exercises. The book also has a wonderful online story with numerous educational games and learning activities. I strongly recommend this resource and it is definitely suitable for children in the age range 6-10. I'm not sure, but you should be able to purchase the books from Amazon.
I just published an article on this very topic! :-) http://jenniferteacher.hubpages.com/hub … aching-ESL
I hope you get some good ideas. I love, love, love the Cambridge Copy series for printed materials and eslhq.com is my favorite website for making materials.

I would like to work abroad teaching English. But the number of options of courses to take to get a TEFL qualification seems a bit confusing. Is it better applying for the most expensive or is that not necessary?
