Why is it that many people who received little or no attention as children tend to hog attention?
These people seem to want everything for themselves. If another person is praised, they loudly interject how good/capable they are also. These people need a wake up call. There was one person at work who constantly bemoaned the fact that she NEVER received any attention as a child ad infinitum and the other coworkers told her to let it rest!
I think you answered your own question: to make up for it. I find that it's people who recieve loads of attention as a child and are spoilt that make such a scene in the future. "The more they have, the more they want", my dad used to say. And if they don't get attention it's like withdrawal symptoms.
You have to look at it from their perspective rather than shout it out, possibly like you have.
