Do you thing students are going to use all the material they learn from universities?
Of course not. Only a fool would think that everything (no matter how bizarre, strange, theoretical or totally unsubstantiated) will be used at point in their lifetime.
What they will use instead is the abilty to prioritize; think cognitively; problem solve; develop a moral compass and; hopefully some compassion; find a wider, more encompassing view of the world and its politics; and, many other valuable traits that will make this person a person who has the ability to shake the world.
All this from having the patience to sit quietly in the classroom and listen; the determination to do the homework no matter what else happens in their day; and, all the tiny scraps of information (s)he will never use again as long as they live.
