   What are your thoughts on extra-terrestrial life?
   
   In another topic on the subject of the paranormal, I noticed that some people believed in the paranormal but NOT in the existence of alien life.
   
   I am not suggesting that they are visiting earth and abducting people; I am merely questioning whether or not people believe that out there, in the giant scale of the universe, life is blooming in a state that we cannot even begin to conceive?
   
   I noticed some similar topics but all I saw were focused on aliens visiting earth.

   Hey Robert,
   
   I strongly believe that extra-terrestrial life exists and the universe is teeming with it. I suppose we might actually find simple forms of life in my lifetime, but it may take a few thousand years before man truly heads to the stars as Carl Sagan famously said.

   According to the Drake Equation there is almost definitely other intelligent life somewhere in the universe.  The real question is whether or not we would ever be able to interact with it.  Our galaxy is so incredibly huge, there could be thousands of civilizations like ours or more advanced, all too far apart to ever know about each other.   
   
   Kind of bums you out if you think about it too much.  In sci-fi movies everything is always just a quick jump through hyperspace away.  In reality the distances are much more daunting, even for a highly advanced civilization.
