Is west urge for African countries to use contraceptive,a noble idea to De-populate Africa good?
Do you think the use of contraceptives is the only solution to De-populate the earth a noble idea for African countries a better strategy from the west to Africa?
Without making a long in depth answer and this is a personal opinion. The use of any Birth Control anywhere that reduces infection in places with high levels of diseases such as HIV/AIDS is a prudent solution to a global problem. In the question "a means of depopulating Africa", if action is not taken to stem the rate of infection then countless people will die a long and painful death.
Just my thoughts on that situation.
Providing contraceptives to places like Africa isn't about "de-populating" the earth. Contraceptives can be a way to lower the risk of STDs. Another important thing is that contraceptives help to empower women in areas where they traditionally haven't been. If a woman can decide how many children to have, she can better manage her household and take better care of her children. Statistics also prove that when women are providing the tools (like contraceptives) to aid them with family planning, they have more time to gain an education and more time to gain employment. Being educated puts them in a position to have better jobs, which helps them make more money, which can lift them out of poverty and/or help them provide better care for their children.
So the provision of contraceptives to places like Africa is more about providing opportunity and culling rampant illness than depopulation or anything like that.
