Why are so many religionists threatened by atheists and others who do not
take the traditional religious/spiritual/ethical path? What makes so many religionists vitriolic and act quite virulently against atheists and other nontraditionalists?
Judaic religions are inherently intolerant and absolute. There are no other Gods but theirs, no other true spiritual paths. All other belief systems are false by default. Other worldviews question and threaten this sense of infallibility. Many religious people attack and attempt to squash these opposing views to reaffirm the validity of their own beliefs and marginalize the nonbelievers.
