A Hundred Dollar Hamburger?
What does a "Hundred Dollar Hamburger" refer to? I just got an accolade from HubPages that my questions have resulted in 100 answers. And there was a fun fact about it that a hundred dollar hamburger is an aviation slang for a pilot needing an excuse to fly. What is the meaning of it and why they call it so? Any knowledge please?
I had to look it up Venkatachari. It is slang for how much it costs to go from one airport to another more so because of the enjoyment to fly. An excuse for flying is getting a hamburger at the other airport lunch counter. The cost to fly both ways and buy the hamburger when the saying came about was $100.
What I feel maybe it is saying that you enjoy the Answer section demonstrated with the new accolade. Congratulations!! And, importantly others enjoy answering your questions.
Thanks for the answer and clarification. So, to sum up, the slang is used to refer to somebody like that pilot who flies from one airport to another with some pretentious job of having a hamburger, but main purpose being to enjoy the flight.

I haven't back linked, I didn't do anything other than find a highly searched for low paying keyword, and...
