What YOU recommend that a recent college or graduate school grad do to thrive in the
postmodern, hyper-competitive workplace?
This is a great question to ask and inspirational too. Perhaps a Hub or two may arrive from it. Keeping short from past experience, mentors, and education a few of a great many to consider are:
Know your strengths
Build on your strengths and form partnerships for weakness
Know what these mean for job, career, and lifestyle choices: Task, duty, and responsibility
Find trusted mentors offered or paid beginning with health / wellness
Here is a fact about the world, those good old day where good education = good job, is ancient history, with most people today either having a bachelor degree or master degree, employers have a lot of options and chances are there are more demand for job then offer, you will be competing with maybe 100 other graduates with the same qualification as you, for a single position and there will always be more graduates then jobs, in the end, not all of you would get a nice job, only a handful would have a good career, the rest, probably find yourself stuck in a dead end job, working as a checkout person in a supermarket.
