Which is better? Asking for permission or asking for forgiveness?
You borrow someones car and wreck it. Both permission and forgiveness would be required in this case, but if you did not ask permission, the whole thing changes. Even criminal charges could be brought against you. So I think asking permission is not only better, it's also very important.
Don't know about 'better' but easier to ask for forgiveness than it is permission.
In general, asking permission, because you may never be able to be forgiven for what you did without permission.
