    In Shakespeare's Hamlet we hear  "..there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."
    It's exactly the same situation with your view that Algebra is a difficult area of mathematics.
    It may appear hard because the basics required to master Algebra need to mastered also. Or that it is not someone's favourite maths topic,so they do not spend sufficient time doing the required work for it.
    As a maths teacher, I appreciate that some topics are more challenging than others, but none of them are impossible to cope with at the level needed if sufficient time and interest is displayed.

      Great response. After applying Carol Dwecks Theory of Growth Mindset, I pummeled through college math quite nicely. Sometimes it required locking myself away in my study with a pot of coffee and not reemerging for up to 4-5 hours until it made sense.
