There are elements of humankind that are evolving into a higher, more universal, & loving consciousness while conversely there are elements of humankind that are devolving-becoming more reactionary, xenophobic & more insular.  Your thoughts on the conditions of human culture & society in the 21st century?

Curious, what elements of humankind do you believe is evolving a higher more universal, loving consciousness?

There are humans who are going beyond man-made societal constructs.  They are living their lives THEIR way.  They are existing at a higher consciousness level.   They REFUSE to see race, age, & other human constructs.  They aren't slaves to the old way of thinking & acting. They are the VISIONAIRES.

There is some merit to what you are saying.

I have to admit that through my career despite resistance, nobody has really been able to stop me once I was determined to have what I wanted.

Without boasting, that is a spirit and attitude toward life and its challenges that is acquired and not inherited. It is too bad that it has not been bottled.

Exactly, there has to be an INNER CONSCIOUSNESS, AN INNER IMPETUS to succeed & overcome so-called obstacles.  One cannot let others DETERMINE & DICTATE his/her life options.  One cannot permit negativity to deter them.  THAT is what I am addressing regarding the poor in America.   The DESIRE TO SUCCEED/TO BETTER has to come from within.  No one can teach a person who DOESN'T WANT TO or CARE TO improve.   One has to be SELF-MOTIVATED & WANT to succeed.

HERE WE GO YET AGAIN...………...Success means having a lifestyle free of socioeconomic struggle & having lots of socioeconomic abundance.  Success means living at one's optimal human & intellectual potential.  Success is living life on ONE'S terms, not SOCIETY'S, FAMILY, or OTHER OUTSIDE terms.

YEP, being socioeconomically wealthy = success.  You GOT it!

                    https://hubstatic.com/12926323.jpg

Or least a COMFORTABLE amount of money...……..YESSSS.

Success is being AT LEAST 4.5 paychecks away from penury & homelessness.  If a person isn't AT THE MINIMUM 4.5 paychecks away from penury & homelessness, h/she AIN'T successful by a LONG shot!

Those are all high minded concepts, that sound good on paper or in speeches.

My solution is to mandate jobs and gainful employment for every able bodied individual or acquiring training toward that end.Poor people generally lack self esteem and self esteem can come from accomplishment and success.  The kids cannot learn successful attitudes and values from parents who spend a lifetime on the dole. Make work or training for work something everybody participates in to receive benefits and who knows, we may find many people, that with a little help and FIRm encouragement will find their own paths and give positive examples for kids and others to break the cycle of dependency and poverty.

Let's face it, self motivation is not something found among the poorest people.

Can't talk about this much as it may appear as SOCIALISM....

"1. Mandate jobs and gainful employment for every able-bodied individual.
    2. Acquiring training toward gainful employment.
    3. Make work / training for work something everybody participates in to receive benefits.
    4. Provide FIRM encouragement to help kids find their own paths.
    5. Provide positive examples to break the cycle of dependency and poverty."

Thank You! for bringing this issue to conscious light.
What has been common sense in the past, is no more. So we who are conscious have our work cut out for us.
Keep up the good work, gmwilliams!

    That the answer is: Freedom
      ... within boundaries.

    And education which provides understanding

and encourages the joy of learning.

No forcing allowed. Forcing in this day, in this age, is taboo!

Instead: Let there be fostering, encouraging and inspiring!

    Who does this best?

Parents, teachers and mentors within their communities.

    Local levels need their autonomy.

Keep the government out of education!!!!!!!
