For analytical thinkers only, what is the significance of the years 1492 and 1942 in history?

"In fourteen hundred and ninety-two Columbus sailed the ocean blue ... In nineteen-hundred and forty-two the Yanks crossed the ocean blue eastwards for the second time in twenty-six years to sort out a knotty problem... German territorial ambition.
Columbus never actually reached what we know as America, never made landfall on the mainland but became governor of what we  know as Cuba, was tried for corruption and exonerated. He was a conundrum, an Italian mariner in the service of the king of a recently unified Spain, who persuaded their Hispanic majesties of his intent to find another way to India and laboured in the belief he was trading with the 'Injuns'. Accused of 'being on the take' (he was Italian, so maybe he was seen as a mafioso) and Genoese to boot, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella were ready to feed him to the wolves. His winning ways, "I can make you a wunnerful ice cream, Your Majesties, if I can just get back to Havana to get the ingredients". They were sold, and he was gone - again. Fast forward 425 years and General Pershing wanted to know what the heck was going on in Europe, guns blazing, Emperors all over the show ordering their armies to annihilate each other just so one (Franz Josef) could get his own back on Gavril Princip and the other (Kaiser Wilhelm, Queen Victoria's grandson) trying to get his hands on Paris, with a third, (Nicholas, also related, indirectly, to Victoria) vainly trying to stem the Teutonic Tide in the east. Pershing succeeded in achieving his share of glory, Old Glory fluttered briefly over Paris, and a peace treaty was signed in an old French Pullman car ... American influence all over again. Another twenty-five years on and Ike Eisenhower, the great desk jockey of West Point was appointed by his president, Franklin D Roosevelt to lead the warring nations out of turbulence. Shame Ike didn't have a firmer hold over General Patton, because loose tongues cause problems. Patton's almost brought about another war in quick succession.
What's the link? Quick thinking and quick talking helped avoid unnecessary transgressions and sweet-talking Stalin kept the lid on the kettle ...

Not even close.   Think woman, what is the SIGNIFICANCE of the years 1492 & 1942?   The answer is very easy.

Very strange coincidence then. I JUST watched M. Gibsons video about the 1942/1492 time loop immediately before you posted....and I thought I believed some strange crap. The world keeps getting stranger and stranger. I can't even keep up.

I'm not sure I'm open to discussing Semitic topics here on the forums due to the sensitivity of many individuals, and I don't feel like getting beaned by our overlords for not being politically correct to their standards. Go ahead and tell me if I'm on the right track with my thoughts, though.

    In a compressed nutshell?

    Holy Smokes.

As Monty Python might say...my Life of Brian hurts.
