Watch Young Sheldon investigate if Zero exists. He undergoes a slight existential crisis while doing it.

What do you think? Does zero exist?

Young Sheldon is on my top sitcom list to watch. Unfortunately, the past couple of years I conk out when it comes on, so I didn't see seasons 5 and 6 much. Bummer!! I plan to get all the seasons on DVD as my Christmas gift to myself.

If you have a smart tv that has built in roku...
You can usually watch all the episodes for free.

You can even start from the 1st season if you want.

I've done this with several old time favorites.

Thanks, yet no smart TV here. I'll check the streaming 'Free' services I have to see if there is something like you suggested. The seasons 1 - 5 at Ebay is about $20. Seasons 5 is like $15 and season six is pre-order about the same. I am wavering on getting them. But, that is one of my most favorite shows of all time!!

I have a son with a degree in actuarial science. I assure you, he would insist that zero not only exists, but is essential to any math.

I would be inclined to agree with him. I discovered several interesting articles on the history of zero. Seems it is a recent discovery/invention for us Westerners. Next, is a link to a short read by History; Who Invented the Zero? A history of nothingness you may enjoy reading.

Zero has been invented and introduced to calculations by one Aryabhatta and consequently by Brahmagupta around 628 CE as per this article.

I went through your article also that was linked by you in your above comments and found something that testifies to that fact also along with some other sources of origin.

When I count the number of lobster tails in my refrigerator I have to conclude that zero exists.

big_smile Yes, I see no steak in my fridge too! I wish there were. Next week, maybe?

In my view, zero does not exist, time does not exist and I am a figment of my own imagination.
It is safe to say, nothing is happening and its all an illusion.

    The question remains,
    What is reality?

    This is reality:
There are no lobsters in wilderness' fridge,
But there are lobsters with their tails intact in the ocean ...

    apparently.

Seems you have read a little or more of Nietzche? He famously stated: "Truths are illusions which we have forgotten are illusions".

An interesting article to read or at least watch the video is; Nietzsche - We Are Living In An Illusion. It is by Freedom in Thought. It speaks to what you have shared. If you do read or watch the video enjoy it.

An ending note with Nietzche in mind, more power to 'ya!
