Do you think that filmmakers are fully utilizing the potential of cinema as a form of expression?
Unlike many other forms of art, cinema influences many senses simultaneously - it includes colors, music, dialogue, expressions (acting) and so on. Do you think this powerfully influential medium is being utilized to its fullest potential by the contemporary film makers? If yes, please do enlist the movies you think have done justice to the art of cinema.
Thinking of the recent Bollywood, and for that matter, Hollywood movies, it seems that filmmakers are running after money more than they are considering art.
Yet,there are some brilliant exceptions. I would like to mention some movies, which I think are 'really' good movies. I am giving you the names, you can google them:
1) Amélie, directed by French film director Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
2) Nayak, directed by Indian film maker Satyajit Ray.
3) The Fountain, director: Darren Aronofsky.
There are of course other movies. But these three came to my mind.
