Just looking to network with people who have an interest in making movies. I'm an aspiring director, and it would be cool to meet people with new ideas.

Ref: New Ideas - Maybe once your film is done, you could turn it into a novel as well? Good Luck, Amigo.

Actually E, I have like over a dozen stories I've written, which I'm gonna adapt into movies, as my budget increases. I'm just starting with the low budget ideas.

If its my kinda writing, why not. You know what, Jules (whispers) I'm actually hoping I get to adapt some of my favorite books into movies - like The Stand by Stephen King or The Catcher In The Rye by J.D.Salinger. Salinger wouldn't give anyone the deal, though. He says Hollywood will mess his book up. Cant blame him. Its the greatest book ever!

I have read "The Catcher in The Rye" I do agree it is an excellent book. Mine is a romance so I do not believe it is your genre, however I thank you for responding. I would be happy to read some of your writing though. smile

You're welcome. If you go thru my Short Stories hubs, you'll get an idea of the kind of stuff I write. I recommend the hubs, The Keeper and The Godhood: Two Very Short Stories, They Call Me Fiery CJ - A Rant About Murder The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Then perhaps The Horrorscope series. smile

Do you need actors fierycj? I remember when I was young in my teens, and the boys would pick on me, because I loved to sing and dance, I would get so mad, I told them "you just wait and see, I'm going to make it to Hollywood someday and I will be the one laughing all the way to the bank"
So, is this my chance fierycj? ...lol...Go back home, to my class reunion, and say see I made it to the big time.....lol...just teasing, I'm not all that in to making movies anymore. But fierycj I wish you all the best, and I will be looking for you on the Big Screen. smile  Dee

I shoot micro-budget horror films (17 so far), and sell them at comic/horror fan conventions throughout the southwest.  I've written, directed, acted, photographed, done special effects, and edited.  So, yes, I'm interested in making movies.

Nice to know this. I'm working on shooting a low budget horror flick in my country. Glad to meet someone who's into the same things in here. Kinda gets boring in here sometimes.

I love filmmaking. I also love writing.

At the moment I'm not doing either. Though when I mean that in terms of writing, I am writing, but nothing that is currently fictitious in nature.

I'm more of a fiction person. But make it believable is my thing, as well. Disturb the reader or audience.

Fiery I don't know anything about film making but I can always help with writing. Not that I've ever written or adapted a book to a screenplay.

But I can spell rather nicely smile

A frog's just gotta write. Even if it is about mythical nonsense.

I've worked on a couple low budget horror films, (gaffer, sound, fx) but I'm a screenwriter.  I have 12 under my belt and 2 of them are being actively pursued. If it happens it happens but in the meantime, I still write.

I'm working on one now that I may consider producing myself if I can't land a deal. I have no desire to be behind a camera but being a producer is more my thing. I have access to a great filmmaking community here in Chicago.  Not going to discuss it here but think (In the Valley of Elah meets Frailty)

Since you are a screen writer, how about providing feedback on the short story I wrote for kids. I love telling stories to kids in my family and friends circle.
