Do you think Mel Gibson has been unfairly treated by the media?
I think everyone gets unfairly treated by the media. Why? Because the media are only in it to sell papers and make money, so if they can do this off the back of anyone, by hook or by crook, they will.
Gibson... we all live in our own reality and 'your truth' might be different to mine.
I think the media perpetuates exiting problems in a lot of circumstances, but Mel definitely got himself into this mess. One cannot act like a racist, misogynistic jerk and then blame the media for his troubles. I think that in his case, drinking may be the more likely culprit than the media, though the media made it worse by letting the whole world in on it.
As I said in my article, what bothers me the most is that the media is treating him him unfairly. The fact that the general public actually blames him for "the tapes" just blows my mind; especially since Grigorieva is such a dubious character.
Yes.
No exception to Mel Gibson (regardless of what the truth is) ...the Media shoot themselves in the foot every time they attack someone under their 'freedom of the press' BS or whatever it is - I call it character assasination.
Conversely, all publicity is good publicity to anyone worth their salt as they can use it to their advantage.
he is being treated unfairly bcos of his christian faith. convicted child molestor roman polanski get the kids-glove treatment in the press, while woody allen got away scot free without any media trial for marrying his adopted daughter.
He used his movies to attack a certain culture, that was his media, why is it wrong for him to get the same treatment now.

Do you think Witchaven(1995) was unfairly treated when it first came out?Critics ignored it's many innovations(first FPS with RPG elements, first FPS to focus on melee battle, first FPS to allow 16 players at the same time, etc.) and just called it a Doom clone. If you haven't played it, it's free...
