the role of sneakers historically in hip hop?
Would you be able to give me an insight into which rappers/groups you might know that famously (and less famously) were the big pioneers of wearing sneakers? I'm writing an article about tracing the evolution of sneaker culture by constructing a narrative thread that starts off in the 1980's and finishes in the present day incorporating some new angles and arguments. The role of hip hop, b-boys, street culture, sport, graffiti, skateboarding are all indisputable influences but to make head or tail of this history I'm desperately needing some more information on the hip hop side of things.
