What is the difference between a Comedian and a Joke Teller?

There are a lot of so called "Comedians" that are actually Joke Tellers....so you know the difference between them?

Comedian's make plenty of people laugh and are clever with their stories, situations, and understand comedy. Joke tellers, on the other hand, just spit out sayings that make people laugh. They are viewed as funny, but shouldn't be anywhere claiming to be a "comedian".

a joke teller just tells jokes - really anyone can do this

a comedian on the other hand tells a story with many witticisms in it. many of these have a basis on everyday life and people can relate to the story. these people are gifted

A Joke Teller typically tells 'one liners' or jokes with a punch line at the end.

A Comedian may tell a story, with lots of comic gems laced throughout and no real punch line at the end.  Comedians are known for monologues, while Joke Tellers are not.

A comedian speaks with length and fluently. And a joke teller tells the joke an it ends.
