Very tough question! If I were to answer, "Gypsy Jazz," you would surely tell me that I'm wrong.  If someone were intimate with the music of aboriginal tribes of far flung places, then surely one of those would be the correct answer.

Probably that jazz fusion stuff. They go completely off the scales and follow like no musical 'rules'.

I know most people are not a fan, but Techno music can for the most part go anywhere. . .

As mentioned already, some forms of jazz songs can go all over the map.

I'll say that traditional classical music of the orchestra variety has endless possibilities as well.

I believe, New Orleans Jazz, is the most unique.

I would say progressive rock.Pink Floyd and The Alan Parsons Project would be in this genre. I like the latter, have been listening to them off and on since the mid 80s.

I'm going to say goth pop, sort of like Florence and the Machine. Its dark and eerie, a bit haunting, but still catchy enough for the rest of us.
