   My least favorite quote is when people say "It is what it is." That quote is silly and really irritates me because many people don't know what it means. They just repeat it because they heard someone else say it.

   I feel like it not only plants the seeds of eating disorders in people's minds, but also encourages them.Too many people are also able to use that quote to justify their disorders, when they should be seeking help.

      That is a really good one.  I just watched a show about models and how many of them have become anorexic.  It is sad.

   "God helps those who help themselves." To me it sounds like Go does not help anybody just help yourself. That is why it is really annoying when some people use it very often.

      I perceive that quote in a different way. God helps those who actually care to do some of the work themselves. God helps those who come to him wholeheartedly. This life we live isn't a free ride. Spiritually; it is a battle.

   I hate the cliches that people quote, such as "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger".  It just isn't true.  People spend lifetimes trying to get beyond childhood emotional abuse, and some never succeed. Physical disease can leave you with permanent weaknesses.  Of course, I know what they intend to say - that you will become a stronger person because of being able to get through some terrible ordeal - but it's smug and simplistic and quoted by people who have obviously never experienced post-traumatic shock disorder.   
   
   The other one I hate is "God never gives you anything you can't handle."  Try telling that to the 300,000 victims of the 2004 Tsunami!  I knew a woman who was going through a very difficult time with a terminally ill husband, and this smug nonsense was making her feel bad about herself, because she was feeling as if she couldn't handle it yet she was being told she was supposed to be able to.

    I don't really have a least favorite, in fact if i don't like the quote i just ignore it, it doesn't even register with me.
