The first television broadcast came from the station at Alexandria Palace in London UK. The broadcast reportedly lasted for 18 minutes, from 9:05 - 9:23 PM local time on either February 11 or November 2, 1936; depending on the memory of the persons interviewed about it. Adela Helena Dixon (later to play in the film "Banana Ridge") performed with the television studio orchestra in a short show called "Variety."
