What do you think of Katie Holmes...aka Tom Cruise's ex-wife?

Is she a villian or a hero?  Newbie hubber, toni2weeks, brought this question to my mind as I read her hub about how K.H. is her hero and why.  I have to admit, until I read this hub I hadn't thought much about the courage that KH showed in leaving, and duping, TC.  What is your opinion?

I think that if she reprised her role in the second Batman movie, the audience wouldn't have cheered when they killed her.

I guess I missed that one...I'll have to check it out.  Thanks for commenting and congrats on your apprenticeship position.

She started out as a teenage with Tom Cruise posters in her bedroom and then she was swept off her feet by him. I think the 17 years between them was too much age difference and this is I think the 3rd time he has gotten divorced. It appeared that he controlled her with the Scientologist church. I think she is better off without him. I would not allow my husband to send my 6 year old child away to school either.

I agree...I rarely use the word 'cult' when I describe a person's religious or philosophical beliefs, but this definitely comes close for me.

I think she has grown into a woman willing, ready and able to take control of her own life. She's not allowing him to continue leading her into the direction that he wants her to go in, and that's a good thing.

She's her own woman now, and that's a great thing!

I could not agree with you more, Penlady.  I believe that she has matured and in that maturity stopped listening to the 'almighty' TC and started thinking for herself.  The 'megastar' fell to the earth!

She is kind of boring as an actress, but I would praise her for taking back control.

Love your perspective, kaallen87.  And, since the focus of the Q isn't her acting ability, you make a good point on her ability to regain her life.  Heck, in the end she should get an Academy Award for her acting 'normal' during the strategy of this.

When it comes to faith and believe, in most cases will eventually become a problem soon or later, I think deep down in her heart she doesn't have the same passion as her former husband has toward this Scientology practice..so in other words if we have partner or spouse who share the same faith, or religion believe, the chance of the relationship to last longer is higher...

That is a very good perspective, greeneryday.  I think that can be applied to all interests.  However, some, such as religious beliefs, seem more important especially when their are children involved.
