Speilberg movies responsible for Micheal Jackson to develop the notion of never ending childhood?
In the 80's Speilberg made movies that had children in the lead like E.T and (Hook) Peter Pan....even Micheal named his home Neverland ranch which is a fictional dwelling place of Peter Pan. I think Micheal took it seriously and almost transformed it to reality. If those movies never existed there would have been a different Micheal and no Neverland ranch.
I don't think so. I think it had to do with the fact that he never had a real childhood.
I did a hub along these lines a year after his death!
Michael Jackson's Neverland probably had a lot less to do with Spielberg's movies than with his own deprived childhood. He had a very authoritarian father (heavily into punishment) and had to work hard as a young child, meaning he never had a carefree childhood, and so it was his dream to re-create one.
Being the nineth and youngest child of the family Mj must have missed the childhood a lot more than other older siblings who were quite matured when pushed into showbiz. Judging by the face his father looks unusally tough that gives me the creeps.
