I place great value on lyrics, so I don't listen to music of unfamiliar languages terribly often unless I can find an English translation.

Sigur Ros is a good example of a band with whom I will break this rule.  I also love the music from the film Triplets of Belleville, which is in French.  Having only limited knowledge of the language, I've been trying to learn the lyrics by just listening, which has been fun.

I love listening to Japanese pop and rock music. At first I had no idea what they were saying but as I kept listening to it and looking up the words, I finally knew what i was saying. I think I'm gonna go listen to some now lol.

In my part of the world, of the music considered to be in foreign language, many people here listen to Japanese, Korean, Thai, and some Vietnamese. I suppose some do understand more of the songs than others, but typically people know some of the usual words you find in these songs: love, beautiful, hurt, heart, pain, forever, ever, ever and ever, and ever, truly, really, blah blah blah and, liar.

    Only if it's in pig-latin.

Turkey-latin is unsingable. I tried it.

On a more serious note (pun intended) I do listen to songs in other languages, although not frequently. Depends entirely on the genre, etc. Spanish love songs often drip with passion. Italian opera is a titch too much Italian mother-in-law drama, but it's good for a while. Other languges, it just depends. Music is a universal language as they say, and sometimes the words are irrelevant in getting the point/feeling across.

Most of the music I listen to is in some language I don't understand.  Falkenbach, Moonsorrow, Subway to Sally, Hollenthon (some), but the music is awesome, so I don't mind.

(Besides, a lot of heavy metal lyrics are pretty stupid when you translate them into English.)
