   Al Gore just sold Current TV to Al Jezeera for millions of  ,is our former VP supporting terrorism ?

   No, absolutely not. Al Jazeera is a foreign news outlet with some high-quality, in-depth reporting. Since it is not based in the United States, it is free from the pro-US bias of domestic news outlets and presents news with a more objective, international perspective. It is not a supporter of terrorism.
   
   Funny - I don't see a lot of people accusing Fox News of supporting terrorism, even though it is part owned by Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who has boasted about his influence over their editorial content. But I digress.
   
   Now I will fault Gore for making a bad business decision for his station and its employees. Selling to Al Jazeera is only going to make cable networks drop the station out of fear of conservative/racist backlash. Time Warner already has, others will likely follow. It is a bit of a betrayal to the producers who will lose their audience and the viewers who will lose the channel. I'm disappointed in Gore for making such a boneheaded business decision.
   
   But it's not treason.

      From the beginning of the first gulf war Jazeera was an ally to Bin Ladin and  Husain , promoting the Iraqi Invasion of Kuwait . How the hell does that compare to Fox  News.

      Al Jazeera was founded in 1996, so I hardly think they were promoting the 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. They have been neutral on Bin Laden and the war in Iraq - as in not taking the U.S. side but covering them from an international perspective.

   Equating Al Jezeera with terrorism is exactly why it is important for us to have them here. This horrible notion of "if it is Arab or Muslim it must be terrorism" has got to stop.
   Al Jezeera has quality. It is a different view than American mass media. We need it.

   Airing tapes made by Osama bin Laden and other members of Al Qaeda doesnt make Al Jezeera a terrorist organization or an "outlandish," as the White House claimed during the invasion of Iraq.In that time,you should know that USA  Administration had been threatening, insulting , imprisoning Al Jazeera reporters (one of them is Tayseer Allouni,who  interviewed Osama Bin Laden and was controversially convicted on terrorism-related charges in Spain in 2005 )and killing others (Iraq correspondent Tareq Ayoub a few days later in Baghdad) ..Where is freedom of press or journalism?Why is there a red light  only for Arab journalists and Media ?have you ever asked yourself why they tried to mute the voices which intended to speak aloud exposing the lies and covering what was  really going on.The one who claimed to be using the US military to liberate countries in order to spread freedom then conspired to destroy media that fail to echo his sentiments, he does not merely disgrace his office and soil the reputation of his country. He attacked a fundamental principle, freedom of the press.In that time,I read in Britain's Daily Mirror ,I think one year after the Invasion,There was a secret White House meeting discussing the possibility of  attacking Al Jazeera's international headquarters in Qatar.To offer security and guarantee for not being attacked by British press,Attorney General Lord Goldsmith activated the Official Secrets Act, threatening any publication that publishes any portion of the memo.
   Now,I am asking  here where is freedom of speech in the West ? and why  the West media  stands only defending the freedom of speech when  the Muslims protested against denigration of  Mohamed (peace be upon him) ?why can t they critisize  the decision of the Goldsmith and hide behind the freedom of speech ?
   Aljazeera s reporters were the only brave reporters who stayed in al Fulluja braodcasting and giving graphic documentary evidences of  horrible things done there under the name of liberation.
   Aljazeera has high-quality, in-depth reporting.Its reporters are so brave.Unfortunately,no one likes good quality and  chivalry in these times .With all respect,I hope i didnt offend anyone here.I just outspeak my mind and wanted to enrich this subject.
