   Richard Wagner (1813-1883) was a German composer who remains controversial to this day both for his revolutionary music style and for his personal philosophy. Wagner was horribly racist and was considered an icon of Hitler's Germany.
   
   Wagner ignored all the musical norms of his day and introduced new techniques which included Leitmotifs (themes for persons and situations which form the foundation of the musical piece) and a nonstop flow of music. Wagner is most famous for his "Tristan and Isolde" and his four part "Ring of the Nibelung"

   Just like said bellow he was complex human being full of the flaws and wrong ideas, very selfish and obsessive with himself and his music, would do anything for his musical success, but genius of classical music in his own right. He, just like many artists before him and after him followed the dogmas of the day and the rules of the mighty and powerful of the time to get funds to compose.
   
   He should be judged for his personal views but not for his music, art is above judgment, art is timeless, art is here for us to enjoy long after any humangly flawed artist who has created subhuman art is long gone...
