What is the proper way to create a press release?
What is the proper way to create a press release? Are there templates I can use, or do I just go from scratch? It needs to be professional, but having never done this, I have no idea as to where I should start. Thanks in advance.
There is a proper way, as I work in the legal field/government and have seen Press Releases. There are templates on-line, so you can just do a Google search. It needs to have a Headline and then write the Body (as you would want it to appear in the newspaper). Of course, include the Who, What, When and Where and be sure to include your contact information. Send it early in the morning. It has to be really good to catch the eye of the newspaper, as I am sure their inbox is full. Make it as close to Press ready as possible. I hope it all works out for you! Blessings.
You need to create press releases that capture attention of your audience. High-impact press releases have three vital ingredients:
1. Pertinent and newsworthy content
2. Proper formatting
3. Well-targeted and timely distribution
