    Seen any great movies lately?

I just saw McFarland, USA and was stunned by it.  One of the best movies I have ever seen.  Well written, well acted and so moving!  What have you seen that you would class this same way.  I'm always looking for a good show!

I don't go to the movies, but got a free month of Netflix. I saw two during the month that I think would follow the criteria:  Nebraska and Cesar Chavez.  Nebraska had a mood to it which the black and white filming only enhanced.  It was well acted.  I felt kind of sad afterward for the lead character.

Cesar Chavez was completely different from Nebraska.  I really like biopics and I thought it did a great job depicting Chavez as well as the conflicts in California's agriculture industry in the 1960s.  This one was filled with passion.

I just saw "Gone Girl" last night on HBO. I see why it got 4 stars. It was riveting with lots of unexpected turns. The acting was top notch and the story kept me on the edge of my seat . . . stunned.

Just saw Mission Impossible today. Loved it. A must see. Nonstop action. Any actor willing to do what Tom Cruise does, deserves to be lauded.  Unfortunately, he gets little respect in the "artistic" sense.  Putting your life on the line for your craft deserves some sort of award.

Also, saw Trainwreck a couple of weeks ago.  Liked it, but it is not a comedy.  More of a dramedy.  Parts of it are very sad (without spoiling it).

I'm with you on McFarland USA, but more recent releases I've liked a lot include Ex Machina and Mr. Holmes.
