I have two albums. I do not buy into a Nashville needed connection. I am thinking about Bocephus's dad the senior. And of course that wonderful Coal Miner's daughter. And if Twitty is not mentioned it is just wrong. If you do not include the "Highwaymen" you are copping out.
But my two are "Gunfighter's Ballad", by Marty -- really cool.
And people forget that sometimes real country is rock and roll. ZZ top "Tres Hombres" Them boys know country.

I think Hollywood may say - both are not country. But I was raised country and so to hell with the coast that is not.

Tres Hombres is an excellent album. Interesting that you mention it.

The Highwaymen were a Country music supergroup. Their collective albums should be on this list.

"Your Cheatin' Heart" by Hank Williams or any one of his other originals.

Gonna find me a bluebird let him sing me a song 'Cause my heart's been broken much too long. Gonna chase me a rainbow through a heaven of blue.

Are You Ready for the Country? By Waylon Jennings. Or Red Headed Stranger by Willie?
