    Hello Raviji!
    I have watched almost all the excellent movies of Smita Patil. Parallel or commercial— She excelled in her work, and to read your well written article is a good reminder of my younger days. It’s unfortunate for the art world that she died so young.

    Thank you for creating this article, Ravi. I’ve seen excerpts of Indian commercial movies. Although I enjoy the singing and dancing, I think I would tire of the “formula” quickly if I watched the whole films. I find the idea of the parallel cinema movement much more interesting. I wish Smita Patil had lived longer and made more movies.

    Thank you to you both for introducing us to this iconic actress. You got me interested to watch some of her movies. It’s sad that she passed away early but hers us a life that will not lose its meaning.
