Excuse me;  Im a fellow hubber and was looking for some celebrity information that I could use on my facebook page.  Disgusted that what I found was more porn (that doesnt belong here on HubPages).  Call me a prude;  but I really dont want to be affiliated with a site that allows this.  Isnt someone "watching"?

Yes, and "someone" just happens to include you!  The "flag this Hub" feature is how you report Hubs with questionable content to admin.

Yes, thank you.  I just stumbled upon this today and have been flagging.  It's totally disgusting.  Thanks for your support!

Well, I'm curious for you to show or tell, please which sites you're reporting?

Since these Hubs are not yours...please post a couple of links, so I can see what "your" definition of porn is? wink hmm

I don't believe that it is necessary for me to post any links.

I was joking so I removed the link , I am in agreeance there are times I run across hubs that are not what I expected but I just pass them by, Porno to me is something that is completely raw if you know what I mean. I have not seen anything on HP that is classified as Porno and I have been here for almost three years we should just focus on us and let HP do the rest. smile

Hey, trust me;  Im by  no means a prude.
I really could care less if other women want to have their photos appear on the web, wearing very little clothing.
Not my cup of tea, but doesnt bother me.  I just pass it by.

What I came across were "RAW" photos, which DID offend me.  Actually, it DISGUSTED me.  It wasn't just one or two hubs either.

Im sure that I will get chewed out for this:
Evidently, the people who work for 1.800.verizon aren't making enough money and this (offensive Hubs) must be their side job.

That's right;  the people who took away our U.S. jobs because they agree to work for $2.00 a day.

I see that most of those that have been flagged have been removed.

It's just a pity - Hub Pages and all my fellow Hubbers should not be subjected to this.  That kinda stuff should be left for other sites.  Just my feeling.

I am glad that I did not run across those or I would have flagged them too! I am glad that HP has the Hopper because we are now more privvy to tracking down those type of hubs and have them reviewed or removed. You did the right thing and brought it to someone's attention. smile

                ?

I just stumbled across some guy with a whole bunch of slightly dodgy pantyhose fetish hubs.  He was 100% American.

Maybe he moved overseas to relocate with Verizon?
                  Ooops, sorry.
I meant to indicate that the Hubs were evidently not of American descent. Sorry for any confusion there.

Thank you all for supporting this issue.  As it stands, I believe that we have all done our job to keep Hub Pages clean.... at least as clean as it can get.

I appreciate all of my fellow Hubbers comments, as well as further information that I was not aware of.  HP Big Brother IS watching - Kudos... for sure.

Have a great week, and again, thank you for your support.  smile

we are supposed to all be watching. If you find something against the TOS, you can flag it. Im pretty sure that admin cant read every hub...
Maybe it does fit in with the rules though, but its close or something?

I'm know I'm going to get my butt chewed for this but here goes... the idea of someone, of anyone actually "watching" gives me the creeps. I'm an adult and as such, I believe I'm capable of self-censorship without some "big brother" deciding for me what is and is not objectionable.

Being oposed to censorship, my feelings are that if anyone finds material on hubpages offensive, they have the freedom not to view it.

I'm in agreement with Cagsil here insofar as I'd like to know what sites exactly you are talking about.  One man's porn may be another man's art.

If you're against censorship and content guidelines, then an adsense monetized shared site might not be a great fit.

      Dear Disturbia:
No butt chewing here;  but I have to agree with Nelle.
This site has certain content rules that are to be followed.
You and I don't make those rules;  but if we (or anyone) want to be a Hub Pages publisher, we must adhere to them.

If publishers want to attract business using non-traditional methods (and Im not talking pix of girls in skimpy bathing suits or sexy and hot love stories) really, they shouldn't be here on HubPages.

It's the internet. Big Brother is always watching. Be grateful that HP is one of the Big Brothers who will make it obvious they are watching. Personally, the fact that HP is watching and fellow hubbers are watching makes me feel a lot safer smile

I have to agree.  Safer is the word!
Sorta like the blocks that we need to enforce for our kids on TV.   It's sad;  I really thought that we were all adults here.  Thanks much for the support.

WOW, my friend Nelle - I didnt realize what they had to go thru - not an easy thing.

Well, thanks for supporting me - and I hope that Hub Pages will continue on to attract good writers and artists from all venues.

Together, we can make Hub Pages the best information source out there.  Keep writing!  smile

If people want to post those porn pics for adsense earnings better post it on their own blog/site instead of posting on HP. I don't want Hubpages to get out of google's deal just because few people made up their own rules on what is porn content instead of following adnsense rules.

You are not correctly using the features here on Hub Pages.  (I just denied your comment on my most recent hub regarding Sandra Bullock.)

Please read the FAQ's: http://hubpages.com/faq/ and the TOS.
