Apparently Marvel wants to use Bucky Barnes for the upcoming captain america movie.  for those that don't know.  bucky is captain america's sidekick in the comic books.  therefore, i would like to ask you all, do you think it's a good idea?  to use his sidekick in the very first origin movie of captain america in 2011?  please discuss.

I'd much rather they stick with Steve Rogers.

same here, i never understood the whole sidekick theme as that's always been kind of stupid!

What do mean? Sidekicks in general? Or just focusing on sidekicks? Or what?

Yeah, they are kind of pointless. They just seem to get into more trouble than their worth.

yeah, plus no offense to captain america, but i honestly can't see his costume translating that well on the big screen without looking a bit goofy.  i mean there  going to have enough trouble with that part without the pointless bucky kid standing next to him.

I don't know, I think they could pull it off well. Though...you ever seen Watchmen? The costumes for the original heroes looked really cool in the book, in the movie, not so much. But then again I don't know if they did it on purpoes or not.

probably.  I guess we'll have to wait and see.  yeah, i've seen the watchmen movie, and thought it was pretty good.  however, i don't think it was anywhere near as good as the book obviously though.

They never are - though it was really faithful to the book, except for the ending of course.

I don't like it. For some reason I always felt the Captain was more of a Neal McDonough kind of guy.

yeah same here.  to be honest, i was hoping for matt damon because he not only looks like steve rogers, but he's a great actor too.  something that i think you'll  need if you want him and iron man to be the leaders of the upcoming avengers movie.

I don't think Matt Damon has the right kind of "military aura" around him, you know? He just doesn't seem like the right kind of actor to me.

idk about that.  he did a pretty good job in green zone.  of course the film was a flop, but i think that had more to do with the controversial subject matter rather than him. however, i guess we'll have to wait and see how chris evans does as captain america.

im kind of wondering who they're going to cast as the red skull though.

i agree.  at least, we both know the movie will have a great villain at least.  now i just hope chris evans takes the role seriously for captain america.

chris evans will be a great captain americe, he'll make him witty like downey jr did Iron man. He only had a sidekick for a couple years, he wont be in the movie!
