          I've been told that the official name of the capital of Thailand is actually an enormously long word (or phrase?). Numerous Thai students have recited it for me but there is no chance in the universe I would remember it.

              By the way, Thais call their capital Krungthep, not Bangkok.  Bangkok is the old name for the capital.
