I am with Joy , And Joy you are not boring I am just not into celebrities at all. They are doing their bit to earn their bread and butter, and so are we, wonder why people make such a fuss about them......................
My dad perhaps , my celebrity!! He taught me how to live ,to love, to be a good person, to respect... Yep I would love to celebrate his memory!!!
Celebrity to me translates into "rich and famous for no reason".
I admire plenty of talented people, who would perhaps never refer to themselves as a "celebrity".
Take Clint Eastwood for example, he has spent his whole life acting and then directing. Is he a 'celebrity'? Or is he a 'Celebrated Actor'?
I like Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, Johnny Depp, they are the actors that I 'most celebrate'....
There is nothing to celebrate about Paris Hilton, for example, hence the need to invent this hideous new word. She is a 'celebrity' because she isn't 'celebrated' for any good reason other than having far too much money without having ever needed to work in order to acquire it.
Therefore, I have no favourite 'celebrity', but I do 'celebrate' certain talented individuals within various different fields.
I too am not into "celebrities." Celebrities often lead negative lifestyles and are all into themselves. They often live miserable lives underneath the miles and strutting of their stuff. They are very poor role models and their talents are very limited.
I like the term someone used "Celebrated actor." In that vein, Meryl Streep is someone to celebrate. What a brilliant actress. Another fave is Anthony Hopkins. Those are my top two.
Others on my list would be Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood, Ron Howard, Glen Close, Kevin Costner, Ed Harris to name a few. Quality actors and directors. Their private lives are private and from what I can see, they are very diligent about growing in their craft and show immense creativity.
So, I'm watching the news to chack the forcast and this entertainment news update appears with *Kim Kardasian files for divorce after 72 days of marriage to Kris Humphries.* I thought it was funny and don't know why...
My new hub "Im a Celebrity get me out of Here" is about an Irish celebrity who got elected to our parliment 8 months ago and resigned yesterday......should celebrities be barred from politics........are they...
