What would become of the show if Bristol wins the whole thing?!

NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD EVER WATCH AGAIN.

Well I never watch the show, but didn't they already void the very name of the show?? I mean the last time I checked Bristol wasn't a Star!
If she wins I think they should rename the show, Footloose the series!

Good point by Robert.....Ms. Palin is hardly a "star"...  Aside from being Sarah's daughter, she is only famous for getting knocked up while a teen and having the baby's daddy decide he was out of there.....

Even worse, actual talent, like Rick Fox, was booted from the show, whereas lame Bristol Palin keeps on keeping on....

Conservatives will stop at nothing to swindle elections their way.....even if it is for a television show about dance...

Perhaps the Sarah Palin supporters are making up for her election loss by taking over DWTS.

If the ratings for the Palin family TV show are any indication, that's exactly what it is. The Palins not only have 5,000,000 people who want to watch them, they have 5,000,000 people who rabidly support everything they do. That means while other contestants are being judged on their merits and also getting support from casual fans, Bristol has 5,000,000 people who will back her even her dance involved her laying flat on her stomach and humping the floor for 3 minutes.

They just voted to keep her another week.

As she has less talent than the others, it's Tea Party votes keeping her.  I think it is plain that neither the judges nor the studio audience like it much.

    4. Moonchild60 profile image77
      Moonchild60posted 13 years ago

They must be doing it on purpose for the publicity she generates.  She was never good enough, very stiff.  Although she has improved she was nowhere near as good as Brandy and that is really sad. Those better than her have been voted off already.  It is not based on talent, but popularity and for a show like this, that is just wrong.

Bristol just generates more viewers.  If they are smart they will make sure she is gone next week.  If she wins they WILL  lose alot of viewers.  No one will want to keep watching to see the weakest links become the winners.

Well, the Christian vote cheated Adam Lambert out of a title he deserved, so the Tea Party folks could carry Bristol to the end.

I agree it will anger people, but I don't think the voting is rigged. I suspect she is getting the votes.

I noticed that they made sure to beg for more votes, stressing how close it was. I doubt the judges want her there.

I am sure they would prefer the excellent dancers make it to the end, not the mediocre ones.  They are about the talent. People voting for Whom they want to win for political reasons on a show like this is just ignorant.

I agree they WANT.  I think that much shows in their reactions and comments - particularly the stressing that "this was so close" and "we need your votes!".  They know that Mom's supporters are clogging the process.

Typical conservative/Tea Party mindset:  Vote for mediocrity over quality; winning matters more than performance.

Bristol has improved over the course of the season, but I'd say she is where the others were about 6 weeks ago.  However, it isn't her fault that she continues to be voted through over better quality performers.

DWTS has an interesting voting system.  50% is from the judges and 50% is from voting.  If the judges don't want her around, they could just give her lower scores like a 2 or 4.

I'm certainly not defending Bristol.  The few times I've watched the show this season, she's not been good and others have been WAY better.  I can't imagine she'll win the whole thing, only because I think so many people are annoyed with how far she's made it and will vote for the other couple.

I really don't know why people care about this. I've seen it a few times, but ... still don't know why people care.
It's entertainment. Is it affecting your life?

I wonder how many people that vote on this actually cast ballots in national elections.

        smile

Probably a small enough number to make you very unhappy.

My wife watches because she likes the dancing. She doesn't vote.

I watch because, well, because I like to be with her.  I am usually on-line with my iPad, not paying a great deal of attention, but I'm there with her and we can talk about exceptional performances.

I'm not entirely uninterested. I never expected that Kyle Massey to be that good - he's fun to watch.  And Jennifer Grey is an example of desire overcoming pain - she's a great object lesson.

Brandy should have been in the top three. Bristol should have gone home long ago. It's annoying smile

I FEEL SORRY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR BRISTOL BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CONCEPT OF WHAT REAL TALENT IS.  I AGREE THAT SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ON THE SHOW IN THE FIRST PLACE BECAUSE SHE IS DEFINITELY  NOT A STAR.  I WONDER HOW SHE MUST FEEL.

As a long time viewer of the show I can honestly say that it's always been more about popularity than talent. And sometimes less talented people do stay on longer than they should due to their fans voting to keep them on.  Kate Gosselin for instance, I've never seem anyone who could dance as badly as Kate.  Except maybe myself. smile And as for Bristol not being a star, she's not.  But I've seen quite a few non-stars on the show over the years. But in the end Jennifer Gray will most likely win.

Lol, Gosselin is the worst dancer I've seen on the show. Forget about her until I read your post just now. Bristol dances with a similar flimsy lifelessness, but Gosselin took it to a whole other level. Too bad for Brandy. She did seem like she wanted to win "too bad," but she still deserved to be there more than Bristol.

Personally I feel if bristol wins the competition  will it have a susan boyle effect on palin's life. It being fodder for sarah's political campaign seems too frivolous and less conducive to the image of being a presidential candidate.

There is no doubt that there is a little political influence there.  I don't think Bristol the Pistol's international abstinence tour is getting her all these votes.

I sometimes wonder if they do "down voting" here.

It may just be coincidence, but it seems to me that every time I mention Tea Party malfeasance, my Hubber Score drops soon after.  Could masses of them be visiting my pages and recording "Don't like" votes?   Honestly, that's hard for me to believe - I really would not expect such petty behavior, so it probably is just coincidence..

But you never know, do you?  That's right, you betcha, you don't.

Bristol Palin is a brilliant dancer who has improved markedly during the season. Her moves are seamless and show an innovative creativity that is reminiscent of Ginger Rogers. DWTS has never had such ratings as evidenced by viewers unable to vote due to system meltdown. This has been attributed to Bristol who, BTW, is a "star" in that she is a recognizable name. Bristol's on-camera dance moves are nothing more than sheer genius.

The apple doesn't fall far from the venom cloaked in piety tree in the Palin family. Here are two different quotes from Bristol Palin. Just another tea party hypocrite. BTW, I saw on the news the guy who ADMITTEDLY gamed the voting system to keep Bristol in the running all these weeks.

      Bristol quote #1
"It is faith that got me through this and just praying all the time and just relying on God and knowing that He is on our side and we'll get through this," Palin told PEOPLE after Monday's finale.

Palin says she learned a lot from the experience -- and not just about dancing. "Just persevere, have confidence in whatever you do and be willing to go try new things," she said. "I've grown so much as a person."

But now that the competition is over, it's time to celebrate. Said her partner Mark Ballas: "We're getting on the private jet with the rest of the couples and we're going to have a party."

Hmm. I wonder if this party is a stop on Bristol's celibacy tour. lol

      Bristol quote #2
"Going out there and winning this would mean a lot. It would be like a big middle finger to all the people out there that hate my mom and hate me," Palin said last night. Alas, the young mother who had controversially made it to the finals despite mediocre performances, prompting some viewers to question the veracity of the Dancing voting system altogether, was only to place third. Jennifer Grey, and justice, were named champ instead, "despite painful neck and back injuries."
