Should parents lose custody of severely obese children?
Read my brief hub and give us your comment
no they shouldn't but they should take lessons in proper eating and exercise habbits. if we let kids be taken away because they are obese, what's next?
Nightwork4, I think lessons have been given for ages in various forms. Just like smoking has been vilified for centuries but people still smoke. Our focus should not be on what's next, in the sense of what else will the government do? for we know what's really next - the child dying before their thirtieth birthday from Obesity related illnesses. Who should we protect? the negligent parent or the vulnerable child?
People need to stop coming up with new ways that the government can interfere in people's personal lives. Has no one read about the Child Services Departments that were literally "taking orders" from rich clients who wanted to foster a particular kid? Many of these operations run like human trafficking rings. The more kids they "save" the more money they get from the federal coffers.
