What do you never agree with your in-laws on?
When 2 people get married they blend the traditions of 2 families and add some of their own. Somethings, like how the dishwasher is to be loaded, always seem to be at odds. What was it when you got married?
Just tuning in with some thoughts…
Keeping what is most important in mind is crucial to good relationships, especially when you marry. Even if all parties will not maturely respond to situations like dishwasher issues, one can, and if because of conflict it is to be only one, the one that does is the one the son/husband will appreciate most.
One of the best ways a wife can love her husband is to truly respect and love his parents, after all, for better or worse, they are his rootstock. Also, she would do well to remember that she will likely be a mother-in-law one day.
Finally, in the end, to be able to look back at the small stuff of being a daughter-in-law without regret likely means that a wife will be able to look back at the big stuff without regret once the parents are gone, which always comes sooner than expected.
