I believe for the safety of the child, the parent must be the one to initiate social activities. In that the parents could go to church with the child,go to the park,local functions, school activities etc... and meet others who have children. I think it starts from there. It is the beginning stages of meeting people.
You can help her to meet friends by inviting her to go to social events. For example school club, or community, chucrh event.
Hello, All she has to do is be herself. It will take awhile to be accepted. She should join the marching band if they have one. The kids in band act in a tight group and they are all good kids. I can remember moving to Florida one son going into 6th grade and I had to leave him all alone in school, he made it to be very popular. My other son started his first year of high school.Actually with limited friends he studied more. They both did well. Good Luck
why not throw a party? or...have your teen get involved in local activities and school clubs/functions. The fact that she was a well-liked person at her old school says that she'll start making friends soon based on her outgoing personality.
