Am I responsible for giving my husband a child support credit, after he failed to notify the courts?
My daughter who is 24 graduated from college in 12/08. Her dad just filed a motion in 5/10 to stop CS in NJ. However he is asking me to give him a credit for that day until this day. What is the law in NJ on this? Oh, I failed to mention that he is currenlty $12,000 in the rear; and we still have a daughter who is 17.
Um no. He's in arrears of 12,000 and this is BS if he thinks he gets a credit. It will take him years to pay what he owes already. I say no because he wasn't a good parent and helped you out while you took care of your daughter so he doesn't need a credit...consider it intrest for the 12,000 he owes
I get tired of this crap that men think they can get a DEAL on payingfor their kids. You never got a deal for scool, clothes, birthday parties, doctor visist, daycare...so ya no way
I suggest you hire an attorney to help you as there are many "moving parts" here. NJ law does allow retroactive emancipation and for him to get credit for overpayments. My guess is that he will still have some arrears but it will be reduced. The child support you get will also be reduced.

This is a little weird saying this, but should I sue my dad beat dad for child support for my baby sister? He is intentionally putting up roadblocks in my Mom's estate case, honestly I think he wants to see what monies goes toward my baby sister. He has lied in the past and continues to lie today....
