As Ron said, it should not be decided by gender, but by merit.
Every pack needs a leader. Someone to guide along the way. There is more cohesion with a leader.

The head of the family is the person in charge. Where the "buck stops." The person who is ultimately accountable. It could be a mother, father, sibling or aunt, or anyone else taking responsibility for the family.
I agree with RonPare - well put! And remember that dancing requires someone to lead as well. Both are equally important, necessary, and talented - but they would trip over each other if both tried to lead the dance.

What are your thoughts on Transgender and the U.S. Military?I just cannot settle on a right or wrong here. It seems that morally both sides can be argued. Medical conditions are perfectly OK to exclude some people from some vocations. I wonder if there is a real rational basis for this exclusion....
