Have you done a DNA profile as part of your genealogy research? What are your thoughts about this?
I haven't done this but when I saw this question I thought how ironic. Just a few weeks ago I was talking to man whose Uncle had done a DNA study to find the family name they have gone by for over 1/2 a century is indeed wrong.
I haven't but I want to. The cost is what is stopping me. I think a DNA profile is extremely interesting and I learned a bit about them in a biological anthropology class. I know that I am a "mut," I'm all sorts of Caucasian, Hispanic, and Black (Maybe Haitian? I don't know) but it would be really great to know the percentages and to see if there is anything I didn't know (which I'm betting on). Especially since I seem to have a lot of recessive genes.
