What is YOUR biggest pet peeve when it comes to table manners?
I absolutely despise when some people crunch ice and it annoys me to no end.
i'd have to say chewing, some people have terrible chewing habits. LIke smacking their lips together or chewing with their mouths open
Anyone who farts or burps at the table. It makes me feel like slapping them and demanding to know if their mother never taught them better.
Talking on the phone at the table or texting through the meal. If it's an important call, excuse yourself to answer it. If not, let it go to voicemail or ask if you can call them back. The same goes for texts.
People trying to talk with food in their mouth really irks me.
When people chew there food really loudly, pr make those really annoying sounds while chewing their food - I absolutely detest it!
People licking their fingers when they are eating, especially in public. It is gross.
I agree with kimberly Crocker - it is smacking. What an annoying habit.
People chewing with their mouth open and you can see the food and talking all the while.
Here's one not mentioned here...
People that pick apart their food, especially pieces of meat...
They are usually borderline vegitarians, eating meat only begrudgingly and because it's not always easy getting iron in other foods...so they don't necessarily like meat. But say you cook up a sweet flamin' steak...its a prime cut, you've already trimmed the fat...and the guest proceeds to dissect and cut out micro portions of something that doesn't flatter them out of every single piece...
what's left over is enough to feed a small dog with. I guess I can understand if they have 'food' issues, but man it's kindof insulting.
Another example, cutting or pulling the crust off bread...man...I guess growing up poor makes me a bread nazi, but it all tastes....like...bread. when did we as a culture decide that the other part is just soooo beneath us? Same with pizza crust! -Just eat it already! Its a complimentary breadstick!
I hate it when you hear someone burping really loud or talking with their mouth full
