What most inspires your gratitude? People, places, experiences....
Wondering what it is that causes you to get that gut level feeling where there only possible response is to be grateful.
When I take a walk with my little dog, I feel so grateful for nature itself. All the beauty of the world overwhelms me sometimes. I stop and look at the woods, the trees, the flowers, and everything that we have been blessed with, and I am grateful to be a part of all this beauty.
Your question takes me back. Please, indulge me while I take you back, with me.
My hubby was a busy truck driver. He primarily hauled beef out of the Kansas City area to the eastern seaboard. On the east coast, he would pick up imported goods ( exotic fruits) and transport them across the nation.
I was with him on such a trip.........a trip, for the long haul driver can mean, On this trip, I wanted, only to go home.
Have I set the stage? Are you with me, so far?
There was NOTHING to do but look around...................I wish, that I could name this hiway for you, but at that point, I had not yet developed my sense of direction.
Here we were, loaded with delicate fruit, on a timed schedule, stopped for road construction.
He brought it to my attention............
This fantastic view, in the distance....................oh, the Majesty of this rocked fruited hillside.............................songs have been written of her beauty...........
He said................I know what you are thinking......................You are thinking, that you would like to have a glass encased house...................
Imagine..........let it run.......imagine........yourself, seeing the most beautiful image of your memory............that is how it was for us..........it was a GRAND view
It took my breath away, and it took many moments before I could answer.........when I finally could...........I had no imagine of a house, window, sunbathing, or pools...........I simply said...........
WHO am I , God, that I get to see this?
The few and decreasing pieces of unspoiled, uninhabited earth, that make our nation..........take my breath away. This unnamed California state hiway, the Chiraquaha mountains, the adobe desert, Big Bend national park.........clotheslines in Chicago............
America, her ugliness, her beauty, her ruggedness, her vastness..........her unpolluted purity......they take my breath away.
My husband says, that the more he goes, the smaller the county gets.....It is different for me..........the more that I get to see, the more that I do see. Fifteen years later, nothing has trumped that moment.
Merely looking at the abundant gift of nature brings satisfaction to my soul. Beautiful landscapes, amazing and magnificent waterfalls and animals brings that sense of gratitude and happiness.
Thanks
I express gratitude for almost everything in my life like my body, that i am alive, my home, my bathroom, my car etc. Whenever i express gratitude i list out reasons why i am grateful and thankful for having it. These reasons create a good feeling for me. This actually inspires my gratitude. The more deep i go and find reasons to be thankful for, the more i get inspired to express gratitude...
I have written a hub about my personal experiences with gratitude.

How do you express gratitude?I asked some of my students last week to tell me some things that they were thankful for. I got some good answers. However, their answers made me ponder the posed question. I intend on following up with them asking them this same question. Thanks for your responses.

What should I do, see, feel, hear or touch before the world comes to an end?The 21st Dec 2012 they say the world is coming to an end. Apart from really believing this, I would love to know, what I should really do, see, feel, hear, touch or experience before we all vanish from this earth. Something...
