Their influence was the subject, that I   could write books about..........and dream of doing so.......

The SINGLE greatest thing?   The one, lone thing that stands out in years of influence?   It is so very simple..................

    Trust your own thinking.

This is the single greatest gift  (among many) they had ever given me..................it has outlived them for 30 years, and I still, carry it forward and teach it to my own......

To go forward, without us...........this is the best that we can teach our children.

I only knew one grandparent and he lived with my mom and me for a while when I was young.  I hate to say this but he was a whiney, complaining old fella who seemed quite miserable--OMG I just described myself - thanks for the question--I think.

No I have to go do some soul searching. :-(
