Is it expected for a 2 1/2 year old to plan ahead?
What got me wondering is a comment my wife made about our grandson who saves something from his lunchbox to eat after he leaves daycare.
This is somewhat strange to me, as the brain of a child this age is not fully developed to the point where she will be able to do any form of critical thinking, morseo make any type of "realistic" plans for the future. Bear in mind that any point before the child reaches 3 yrs. old is considered the period of infantile amnesia .--- meaning the child usually cannot even remember or start recording anything seen or heard until she is 3 yrs. old. At 3 years old, she records everything in the brain and then recalls most of all she had recorded at age 3 and beyond.
