Does someone's origin play a part in who they become? And how?
Yes. It is your origins that determine how you are formed as a person. This doesn't mean that things cannot be changed, or that we don't grow and improve or get worse. But if someone has been abused for instance, they will be shaped by that, either by taking out their pain on their loved ones, or by vowing to never become an abuser. If someone has an alcoholic parent they might swear off drink, or become one themselves. I think who you are as a person deep down inside makes a huge difference either way, but we are shaped by our surroundings.
