You asked me who I am
But I don't even know
Part of me is four years old
gathering Easter eggs
In a blue dress and patten leather shoes
that I can still smell
Part of me is six teen
Experimenting with life
but in the moment where I
sat in the woods
writing in my journal
listening to "Bon Jovi"
Part of me is nearly thirty five
and learning how to be a mother
I am tall and thin
I am short and round
I am young and old
I am happy and sad
I am mother and daughter
I am someone's rock
I am someone's water
I am friend and lover
I am Christian and Pagan
I am blooming and wilting
I am clay for molding
I am the pottery formed
I am part of the world
and the world is part of me
I am part of nothing
and nothing is part of me
Neither a nihilist nor an optimist
And always somewhere in between
and never really knowing
Who I am
Sarah Hall Minks 2010
I am and I will remain what I was when I will be.
I mean, I was what I am but I will never stay on when I can.
Be when I become, inspires to say that I never will be.
If only I could be what I was, I might be what I want,
will I become what I don't want to be?
If so, don't panic, because I am who I am
