it depends on the circumstance but usually a dad should do the very best to find the needs of his family no matter where he spends his day. If he is a freelancer and stays at home, no matter

If the wife is making enough money to support the family, then no. There's nothing wrong with a man staying home to raise the children.

But that's a decision for a family to make, and it depends on one spouse making enough to support the entire family - which is increasingly unlikely these days. Many families have two working adults to help increase the household income.

If my wife made a significant amount of money (like $100,000+), I wouldn't feel any shame in staying home to raise my kids. But, on the other hand, I like working and I'd probably feel strange if I didn't get out of the house to do something work related on at least a part time basis (or continue to write / publish things online as a part time job).

There is no shame in parenting full time. There is shame, however, in gender stereotyping, such as expressed in this question.

He is more patient than me. My husband stays at home and so far it's been wonderful. The house is clean, the laundry is always done, the garden is cared for, the baby has constant care that I don't have to pay for, etc. He takes care of everything that I don't want to do. It's easier to go to the office every day instead of being at home, and I prefer to be the one working/handling the money. He likes staying at home and I wouldn't have it any other way.
