    What is your funny nickname?

I did a hub on unusual baby names. I would like to do one now on funny, wierd, crazy, really bad (but clean), or unusual nicknames. Tell me your nickname and the story behind it, or tell me about someone else's nickname and story and I may just put it in my hub. For starters, my father's name was Jim, but as a kid he was called pee wee. My mom's name was Marilyn, but the first 40 years she was called Bunny. My grandma was called BooBoo, and my brother in law is Beaver. Go ahead, don't be shy.

In high school, some of my friends called me Ralph. One day we were sitting around trying to guess each others middle names with only knowing the middle initial. Mine starts with an "R" and all of the guesses were wrong so I provided the clue that it sounded like a boys name. One girl guessed Ralph and I told her she was right. To be silly, everyone in that group started calling me Ralph.

Without looking at my profile, did you guess my middle name? If not, it's Rae.

My sister is less than a year older than me, so she had trouble saying my name "Erin" when we were very young. The way it sounded was "owie" (pronounced ow-ee). So even when we became older and older this was always an embarrassing nickname that only my sisters were allowed to call me.

Mine was or is "Tree" as my then boyfriend, now husband, had a cousin who was only two years old at the time and she saw a photo of us together and tried to say my given name and could not.  It came out "Tree" and then his brother was only a teenager at the time and added "Oak" to the Tree, so he calls me Oak Tree, but the "Tree" stuck with some on my husband's mother side of the family.

I have four sisters and here are their nicknames:
    Snootza
    Codfish
    Big O
    Little O
Grandma named Snootza because she was always snooping at Grandma's house.
Codfish got her name from Dad who caught her putting red salmon eggs  in her mouth thinking they were candy.
And Big O and Little O were the two youngest girls named this by an uncle. He said every time he came over in the morning to visit they were always sitting at the table eating CheeriO's for breakfast.
And me, well, mine's about as bad as Codfish, maybe worse. I got the name "Skunk" from my Dad. Why? That's a dumb question! I got squirted by a skunk once, I guess, I don't remember. But I never asked why and he never told me why. So that's my answer and I'm sticking to it!
